An innovative flavor born from collaboration with a Hiroshima sake maker
"Ryusei Kijoshu Whisky x IPA" is an experimental Kijoshu created as part of the "HIROSHIMA BARREL RELAY PROJECT," a joint project by five sake breweries in Hiroshima Prefecture.
First, the precious sake is aged in barrels used to age Togouchi whiskey.
It was then aged again in the same barrels used by Hiroshima Neighborly Brewing, a craft beer maker based in Hiroshima, to make their Belgian IPA.
By using a barrel relay that crosses the boundaries of different genres, from whiskey to IPA to sake, we have achieved an unprecedented overlap of aromas and flavors.
When poured into a glass, it has a refreshing citrus aroma derived from IPA.
When you put it in your mouth, the bitter taste of hops and the richness of whiskey spreads slowly.
Finally, the thick consistency and sweetness that is unique to Kijoshu slowly melts into the drink.
Enjoy the unique, three-dimensional flavor created by layers of multiple elements.
I would also recommend this to anyone who loves craft beer or whiskey.
This is a challenging work that goes beyond the boundaries of sake, just like Lab. Works.
